Hearing Evaluation
A Hearing evaluation is an important first step in your hearing health journey.
Through a hearing evaluation, our licensed hearing aid specialist will be able to determine if you or a loved one is facing hearing loss and be able to identify the type and degree of hearing loss. The hearing evaluation results will help us determine a comprehensive treatment plan that best fits your lifestyle.
So what should you expect from a hearing evaluation? Generally, a hearing evaluation is a four-step process. An interview allows us to gauge your experience with hearing loss and gather any information that might reveal its cause. The hearing evaluation helps us identify if hearing difficulty is caused by obstruction or damage to the ear canal or eardrum. The hearing evaluation will allow us to pinpoint the specifics of your hearing loss through the use of an audiogram. Finally, if necessary, we will provide treatment solutions that benefit your degree of hearing loss. Schedule a hearing evaluation with us we serve San Mateo, CA & surrounding areas.

Custom Hearing Protection
Custom hearing protection is available to protect against dangerous levels of noise.
Noise-induced hearing loss is one the major causes of hearing loss and can be quite preventable with hearing protection. A single exposure to noises like a gunshot or fireworks or long-term exposure to noises of heavy machinery are examples of noise-induced hearing loss.
Using generic earplugs can help protect your ears, but it is recommended to get custom ear protection as they are molded to fit your specific ear shape. Fitted or molded, solid earplug protection is also the better option for those exposed to high decibel level activities for long periods of time. Getting customized hearing protection keeps out the hazardous noises while still allowing you to intake the sounds you want to hear.
Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive learning devices (ALDs) help amplify sounds, allowing you to hear more clearly in difficult listening environments like large groups, theaters, conferences, and even with televisions.
These devices not only improve what hearing specialists call the “speech to noise ratio”, but they can also separate the sounds you actually want to hear from background noise allowing for an improved listening experience for the hearing aid user.
